FastR Announce Support of Upcoming Karting Star Lucas Blantford
Here at FastR, we’re proud of our primary goal - supporting young & upcoming drivers, recognising talent, and working with them on their journey from obscurity to greatness. So, when we were made aware of 13-year-old Lucas Blantford’s not inconsiderable on-track talents, we had no choice but to bring him into the fold.
Karting is a seriously tough place to make a name for yourself. It can take many years and some serious cash to get to the top, for most anyway. But for Lucas, who’s first complete season came in 2021, it’s all come quickly and relatively easily, following his entry into the fiercely fought Honda Cadet group.
A raft of race wins and podiums in numerous championships saw the Warwickshire-based Lucas, originally from Scotland, P3 over all in the Ultimate Karting Championship at the close of his very first season, whilst BTCC-outfit Team HARD selected him as 1 of just 14 drivers for their Scholarship programme. Downforce Radio also recognised his talents, naming him 1 of the Top 10 Drivers Under 13 in the entire UK.
2022 sees no abatement in the youngster’s rise to stardom, with his step up to the 70 mph+ karts of Rotax Mini Max taken in his stride. At the time of writing, Lucas has won numerous races in various championships across the UK, leading one, and has been awarded the highly coveted 2022 UK RISING STAR AWARD by GAMECHANGERS MAGAZINE.
Luke Clayton, FastR CEO – “When I was introduced to Lucas, I was instantly impressed by the way he handled himself – there aren’t many 13-year-olds that can hold their own in a boardroom! His results on-track speak for themselves, and he’s the perfect example of exactly why we’re working so hard to do what we do, supporting young drivers at the beginning of their journey. Make no mistake, Lucas Blantford is a name you’ll be hearing for many years to come!”
