A Emotional Winning Podium

Lucas headed to Paul Fletcher International in Grantham for Round 4 of The Kart Championship on June 14-16.

Unable to complete the Friday morning practice sessions due to exams Lucas was able to get straight in the pace in the afternoon.

On Saturday Lucas qualified in P2 out of the 28 entrants, some of which were top British drivers, so a good start to the weekend.

Lucas held his own against these top level drivers giving him a P1 in heat one and P4 in Heat 2.

Going into the final Lucas started in P4 and drove a fantastic race showing determination and grit crossing the line in P2 but was promoted to P1 following a after race penalty.

This now extends Lucas lead in the championship and following his dads cancer diagnosis in January this was to be the last meeting before he headed for major surgery to hopefully cure him. Following the podium presentation Lucas built up emotions all came out and shared a special moment with his dad, who mechanics for him in his karting.

Next stop is Super One and Rounds 7 & 8 at the start of July.
